Founded in 1977 and based in Pasadena, California, First Wilshire Securities Management is an employee owned boutique investment manager serving institutional and individual clients. Our Mission is simple. To be a top performing research-driven investment manager operating as a family-like company that contributes to the well-being of our clients and employees.
We have patiently adhered to a value investment philosophy throughout our history, recognizing companies with great prospects at attractive prices. We do not specialize in any other strategies, styles, or securities. This strategy usually results in a portfolio of predominantly, though not exclusively, small and micro-cap U.S. and foreign equity securities. Furthermore, this strategy is not specifically tied to traditional commercial benchmarks nor do we seek to chase what has been trendy. We have an in-house team of financial experts that spend every day searching for value across the equity markets around the world. The First Wilshire team takes great pride in our unique research-driven investment style and dedication to exceptional client service.
We are currently accepting new clients who meet our account minimum. We offer fee based products. A First Wilshire management account may be appropriate for investors seeking exposure primarily to smaller capitalization companies, actively managed in a value style and willing to accept greater risk than large cap stocks and index funds.
First Wilshire Securities Management has been investing for over 40 years and maintains an over 30+ year quarterly performance history. We track and update our performance history in compliance with the GIPS standards. The Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) is a set of standardized, industry-wide ethical principles that guide investment firms on how to calculate and present their investment results to prospective clients as defined by the CFA Institute.
